Summer Learning in Charlotte
Summer camp is an excellent option if you want to help your child transition into the next school year while enjoying fun activities with friends. Swan Learning Center in Charlotte, NC, offers an accelerated summer program where they work with your child to help them master the reading, math, and writing skills they need.
They can even accommodate lessons based on different schools’ curricula to help your child excel by feeling comfortable taking on the new school year ahead.
Here is what you can expect from our summer camp:
Registration Details
Swan Learning Center offers two summer programs: Kindergartners to 2nd Graders and 3rd Graders to 12th Graders. These workshops run on a four-day week (Monday-Thursday), either in the morning or afternoon, and focus on one subject per week you are registered for, giving your child time to truly comprehend the material.
Diagnostic assessments are also available before the summer sessions to help us understand your child’s current knowledge of these subjects and create tailored lesson plans to help them succeed.
Academic Workshop (Rising Kindergartners – Second Grade)
It is vital for children this age to keep learning, even with fresh reminders over the summer, to help their minds grow. During these week-long workshops, Swan Learning Center can work with your children on any of these skills:
- Phonics, Sight Words, and Spelling
- Reading Comprehension / Vocabulary
- Writing / Handwriting
- Math Computation and Applications
This program can be flexible to your schedule, with a choice of weeks from early June through late August. Program hours are 9:00-10:30 am or 1:00-2:30 pm, and tuition is $350 per week, with a one-time, reduced Diagnostic Testing rate of $100.
Academic Intensives (Rising Third Grade – Twelfth Grade)
Summer programs probably aren’t on everyone’s bucket list of summer activities to complete before the next school year. However, summer programs benefit students of all ages. As your child becomes a Rising 3rd Grader, they can enter the Swan Learning Center’s Intensive Program. This stage can be challenging because you’re going through significant changes, whether you’re entering middle school, high school, or preparing for college. In this program, students can work on:
- Reading Comprehension / Vocabulary
- Writing Composition / Grammar
- Foundation Math / Advanced
- Math-Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II
- SAT
This workshop is offered from 9:00-11:00 am or 1:00-3:00 pm, so students have more time to work. Tuition is $400 per week, and a one-time, reduced Diagnostic Testing rate of $100 is also available.
